Welcome to the Florence Fire Department
The Florence Volunteer Fire Department (FVFD) was founded in 1949 to serve the greater Florence area in Western Montana, 20 miles South of Missoula. Our coverage area is approximately 65 square miles and serves a population of approximately 6,000. The FVFD responds to around 300 calls per year, handling structure fires, wildland fires, vehicle fires, medical emergencies and physical rescues and other emergency and non - emergency calls.
The Florence Fire Department operates out of one fire station, at 234 Holloway Lane in Florence, and has over 35 dedicated volunteer members available to handle calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The department operates seven fire engines and one command vehicle, equipped to handle medical emergencies, structure fires, wildland fires, rescues, and other emegency and non emergency calls.
